MMS GUIDANCE

What do School Counselors do at

 Marlton Middle School?

Counselors are at minimum, required to hold a Master's Degree in School Counseling in the State of New Jersey. Counselors are here to collaborate with everyone in a school setting  including students, teachers, administration, and families. Counselors are 504 Coordinators, State Testing Coordinators, I&RS Team Members, and Anti-Bullying Specialists.  We work with students on an individual basis or in a group setting.

School Counselors work with students to focus on academic planning, goal setting, short-term counseling needs, mediation between students,  advocate for students in student-focused meetings,  and, data analysis to identify student issues, needs and challenges. Counselors help act as a systems change agent to improve equity and access, achievement, and opportunities for all students.
